As the Project Manager, I led the development of the Calpine Corporate Safety Orientation Video, ensuring third-party contractors received clear, comprehensive guidance on health, safety, and environmental requirements while visiting or working at a company owned sites. The project objective was to create a structured, informative video that aligned with the companies safety standards and regulatory compliance. Upon completion, the approved version was successfully delivered and implemented for contractor use.

 

I joined the already in progress project as Project Manager during the Planning phase, and utilized the PMBOK framework across the remaining four process groups. The Planning phase involved updating the project management plan to add new details as the scope had changed after the initiation process. I used change management tools to verify and get approval for the updated scope, schedule, cost, quality, and risk management requirements. I also established a stakeholder engagement plan to incorporate feedback from the Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) team, Marketing, HR, Legal, and compliance officers.

 

In Executing, I coordinated efforts between marketing, video production teams, and subject matter experts to ensure accurate and engaging instructional material. I facilitated scriptwriting, and editing updates to produce a high-quality orientation video that effectively conveyed critical safety procedures, environmental policies, and emergency response protocols.

 

The Monitoring and Controlling phase involved reviewing video content against regulatory safety requirements and stakeholder expectations. I conducted quality assurance checks, implemented change control processes, and validated accuracy through structured feedback cycles.

 

During Closing, I finalized the approved version, conducted a formal review, and ensured successful delivery of the MP4 video for implementation. Lessons learned were documented to refine future training materials and video production methodologies.

 

Through structured project management, adherence to PMBOK principles, and close collaboration with stakeholders, I successfully delivered a high-quality, impactful safety orientation video that enhanced contractor awareness and compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.
