New Learning Management System (LMS) Implementation
Available to Present Upon Request

Objective: To implement a scalable, user-friendly LMS that supports instructor-led training (ILT), simplifies user administration, integrates legacy training data, and aligns with the organization’s long-term learning and compliance goals.

Role: Project Manager and Implementation Lead

Responsibilities and Deliverables: I have led the lifecycle of the LMS implementation through go-live.

A few notes and thoughts included for potential discussion are as follows:

  • It will be required to conduct a thorough needs analysis to assess platform compatibility, authoring capabilities, and pricing models to match an organizations strategic requirements.

  • Managing RFP evaluations of recommended vendors: AbsorbLMS, Docebo, and iSpring, with an emphasis on data migration capabilities, ILT functionality, and administrative scalability.

  • Develop a phased implementation plan for both fresh installations (~3 months) and complex migrations (~6–9 months) involving legacy data reconciliation and user account consolidation.

  • For integration with legacy LMS systesms:

    • Overseeing the migration of course data, which involves mapping discrepancies in course naming, rebuilding ILT modules, and addressing username anomalies across duplicate accounts.

    • Establishing an LMS administration framework to support high-volume user requests, test resets, and seasonal support challenges.

  • Negotiate a three-year licensing agreement that balanced stability with financial risk and functional flexibility. LMS Content might require additional licensing from outside vendors to match the organizations learning needs.

  • Security integration with internal and external clients is a vital point of discussion prior to purchase. Also how the system can integrate with Accounts Payable and Received departments should be included in the discussion along with any legal, regulatory, compliance, or accessibility standards as a part of the planning and Risk Assessment processes.

Outcome: The project will successfully deliver a fully operational LMS on schedule, with significant enhancements to learning delivery and administrative efficiency. The clean migration of historical data is possilble, but can add significant time and complexity to the project. It may however be of great importance in order to ensure continuity of compliance tracking. The selection of a feature-rich platform can position an organization for long-term success in workforce development. Post-launch user support was streamlined via a structured admin protocol, reducing ticket volume by an estimated 35% during the holiday peak.
